We met in 1996 when Glyn worked in a bank as a Training and Compliance Officer and I worked as an office clerk.
We married in 1997 and went to Mombasa on honeymoon. Seeing the plight of children in Mombasa, their lack of food and education and general hunger for the Word of God, our hearts remained in Mombasa when we went home.
Words that stuck in our minds were “Can your Jesus feed me?”
We registered Education for Life as a UK Charity during 1999 and in February 2000, we went to live in Mombasa to show Jesus’ love in practical ways and to care for children who had been forgotten by society.
We are committed to demonstrating a different kind of lifestyle within the whole community, in love with God and unity with each other.
In the Bible, Matthew 28: 18-20 Jesus says to his disciples,
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age”.
If these were Jesus’ parting words to His disciples before He ascended to Heaven then it must be important!
